3/25/24: OpenVPN Log In Change Tomorrow

Crowder Colleagues,

In February, Information Services shifted all employees to Duo MFA to better meet federal compliance requirements. To further strengthen Crowder security and streamline login processes, tomorrow, Tuesday, March 26th, at 9 AM, OpenVPN will switch to Duo MFA.  After the change tomorrow, anyone wishing to use OpenVPN will need to set up a new profile to connect to OpenVPN.

What is OpenVPN’s purpose:

Employees wishing to access Jenzabar or a shared “Departmental W drive” from off campus must connect to OpenVPN first.

I don’t use OpenVPN. Is there anything I need to do:

No. If you do not need to access either of the above services from off campus, there is no need for you to use OpenVPN or do anything.

I use OpenVPN. What do I need to do:

  • After the change at 9 AM tomorrow, those that do use OpenVPN, will need to follow the attached directions to update your OpenVPN profile. The directions may also be found under the Information Services How-Tos at https://crowdermo.sharepoint.com/sites/InformationServices38.  or

  • Here: Installation and Setup of OpenVPN.pdf
  • Once you have created and successfully tested your new profile, that requires Duo MFA, delete your old profile by clicking the “pencil” on the right and then “DELETE PROFILE” at the bottom of the next screen.
