11/8/23: Active Phishing Campaign Targeting Missouri Schools as PSRS/PEERS

We recently received an alert that Missouri school emails are being actively targeted by a phishing campaign, purporting to be from PSRS/PEERS.  Please be cautious of any unexpected email and look to verify the sender and links are legitimate before interacting with the email. While email communication from PSRS/PEERS is not uncommon, and should be expected, this phishing campaign shows some signs of being questionable.  

Below is a redacted copy of the email that's been seen.

Email:

Employee {last name}, "Note: the phishing email will identify you properly."

Each year, as an employee of {Name of School District} you are eligible to schedule a Zoom meeting with a representative for answers to your specific state, federal, and individual retirement benefits questions.

At your consultation, you will be provided with information that will tell you what your potential pay from STRS / PERS can be when you retire between the ages of 55 and 70 and how much longer you may have to work to get full benefits. That, along with advice on how to utilize your district-sponsored 403(b) options and further maximize your pension.
