6/1/23: Changes to Crowder Hard Drive Encryption

Over the next few weeks, the Information Service division will be rolling out full-disk encryption to Crowder computers, better securing the data contained on each computer and meeting new compliance standards for higher education.  While this is not a small change, there is nothing you will need to do and no change to the way you work on your computer.

Once your computer's hard drive is encrypted, you may notice a padlock over your Windows (C:) drive when you view it in File Explorer, similar to the screenshot below.
