9-15-21: Reboot Wednesday!

Please make sure your personal and work computers, phones, and tablets are updated this week.

Yesterday, September 14th, was Microsoft's "Patch Tuesday" for the month of September.  Microsoft pushed out updates (or patches) to fix dozens of security vulnerabilities in Windows, Office, and other software.  Four of the security issues fixed in yesterdays patch were deemed "critical" by Microsoft, meaning they could be easily exploited by malicious actors.

On Monday, Apple released a new iOS update (14.8) for their iPhones, iPads, and watches meant to fix a security issue that allows spyware to be installed. Adobe and Google have also patched several of their products recently.

While many updates happen automatically, it is good to make sure your work machine has restarted and to check personal devices occasionally to make sure they are up to date.

If your Crowder computer has been connected to the Crowder network, it should have received updates yesterday and finished installing them when you turned on your machine this morning.  You can help ensure your machine is fully up to date by making sure to fully shut it down or restart today, rather than just allow it to sleep.

For your personal Windows devices, connect to the internet and search your SETTINGS for "Windows Update".  You can then click the button to search for updates and install them.  For Apple products, go to your SETTINGS app, open "General" and then "Software Update" to see if any updates are available.
