Description
This is a course for students needing to improve specific reading skills. Emphasis will be on adequate reading preparation, increasing reading speed and improving vocabulary and comprehension through the development of literal, critical and effective reading skills. These skills will be taught through a variety of textbook exercises, tests, computer software, quizzes and readings. In addition, outside reading/writing may be utilized to further ensure development of skills. Credit earned in this class will not count toward graduation. A course fee will be applied. (Prerequisite: LOC 40 grade of 'C' or higher or placement by COMPASS exam)
