Description

Fundamentals of Speech is an introduction to the fundamentals of effective public speaking and listening. The course is designed to develop confidence in self-expression and interpersonal communications. Communications 104 includes preparing, organizing and delivering oral messages within a variety of real life situations of communication. Audience analysis, the listening process and clarity of expression are emphasized. (Prerequisite: Proof of English proficiency is required for students for whom English is not their naive language. Test scores accepted and minimum acceptance, per International Admission standards: Duolingo - 95; TOEFL iBT - 68; IELTS Academic - 6.0: or PTE - 45. Students transferring from a US college or university will have the requirement waived if they have completed ENGL 101 with a grade of C or higher.)
