Cybersecurity partners are reporting recently observed organizations receiving unsolicited Microsoft multi-factor authentication (MFA) text messages. The messages reported originate from legitimate Microsoft numbers (short code texting numbers) and are affecting organizations across multiple industries.
At this time, it is unclear whether these messages are due to a system failure within Microsoft or part of a malicious campaign. As always, avoid interacting with any unsolicited or unexpected MFA requests. Please let HelpDesk know if you receive any MFA request with Microsoft or Duo. HelpDesk can be reached by visiting www.crowder.edu/ticket, emailing help@crowder.edu, calling 417.455.5712, or by visiting us in person in room 217 in McDonald Hall on the Neosho campus.
