8:30 AM - 5/21/25: Improved Jenzabar RemoteApps Update Instructions

Dear Crowder Colleagues,

We want to sincerely apologize for the technical difficulties some users experienced this morning when attempting to access Jenzabar.

As part of the recent Jenzabar upgrade, a new client version is required—Jenzabar Desktop 2024. If your system is still trying to launch the 2023 version, you may receive an error message such as:
"This app is not in the allowed list."

This is expected behavior when the RemoteApps system hasn't yet updated to include the new version. While the RemoteApps system does update automatically, it can take up to a full day after your PC has been turned on for the update to apply.

To resolve the issue immediately, you can manually update your RemoteApps by following these quick steps:

How to Update Your RemoteApps

  1. Open Windows Search and type:
    RemoteApp
  1. Select RemoteApp and Desktop Connections from the results.
  1. Next to Crowder RemoteApps, click Properties
  1. Click the Update now button.
  1. A pop-up window will show a progress bar—please wait until it's complete.
  1. Click Finish when prompted.
  1. Close the RemoteApp and Desktop Connections window.
  1. Try opening Jenzabar again—it should now say: Jenzabar Desktop 2024

Important Note About Desktop Shortcuts

If you previously created a desktop shortcut to Jenzabar, that shortcut will still point to the old version (2023) and will not work. Please delete that shortcut and instead use the Start Menu to find and pin the updated Jenzabar Desktop 2024 version to your desktop or taskbar as needed.

Need a Visual Guide?
We included a PDF attachment in an All-Employee email sent in conjunction with this post that walks you through the RemoteApps update process step by step. Feel free to reference or share it as needed.

If you continue to experience issues, please don’t hesitate to contact the Help Desk at help@crowder.edu or extension 5712

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work through this upgrade.
